Future Music MagazineAntibalasSecurity[ANTI-/EPITAPH]Continuing in their uniquely Brooklyn-built seam of psychedelic afro-beat, Antibalas finally begin to capture - and mold for themselves - the sound that, since the group's founder Martin Perna first set up shop in 1998, has drawn endless comparisons to Fela Kuti's famed Africa 70 band. "War Hero" is the central track here to convey that feeling with guitar and horn lines bobbing and weaving like a pair of seasoned boxers in the ring while cinematic funk and Latin influences carry such gems as "Beaten Metal" and "Sanctuary" in strange back alleys. - BM
